First Air (Carp) has announced the signing of a codeshare agreement with fellow Canadian High Arctic operators Calm Air (MO, Thompson) and Canadian North (5T, Yellowknife) to apply to selected flights operated by the three airlines.
“Canada’s North needs airline consolidation. We are pleased to work with our two new airline partners and build on this proven and successful airline cooperation model,” Bert van der Stege, VP Commercial at First Air, said. "It also improves the sustainability of the scheduled services of each individual airline."
Codeshare cooperation between First Air and Calm Air will be implemented next month while First Air and Canadian North will only be able to commence codesharing in August, when the alignment of their reservation systems is expected to be complete.
All three carriers have also moved to better align their schedules so as to offer seamless travel and improved connections.
