Havana Air (Miami International) has announced that ACMI/charter start-up Eastern Air Lines (2009) (Miami International) will provide it will capacity on flights between the United States and Cuba. HavanaAir already has similar arrangements with Vision Airlines (United States of America) (Las Vegas Harry Reid) and InselAir Aruba (Aruba) chartering a B737-400 and an MD-82 respectively.
Under the terms of their agreement, Eastern will operate 65 flights per month for HavanaAir including a twice daily service from Miami International to Havana International and weekly services to Santa Clara de Cuba and Camagüey. Operations are on-board Eastern's B737-800 which is configured with 16 First Class seats and 129 Coach seats in the main cabin.
Within the next 60 days, the partnership will be expanded to include additional approved US gateway cities.
