Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) says it will assist any passengers left stranded by the recent collapse of Air Lituanica (Vilnius) through its recently launched Rescue Fare which applies to flights between Vilnius and Paris Beauvais and Eindhoven.
The Hungarian LCC said in a statement that Air Lituanica passengers who have booked to travel between Vilnius and Paris CDG and Amsterdam Schiphol from now until June 30 will be able to book new Wizz Air flights for a nominal fee of EUR19.99.
Latvian carrier airBaltic (BT, Riga) has said it will launch its own flights out of Vilnius to Brussels National, Berlin Tegel, Paris CDG, Stockholm Arlanda, Warsaw Chopin, Helsinki Vantaa in addition to its existing Vilnius–Amsterdam, and Vilnius–Riga routes.
For its part, Estonian Air (Tallinn Lennart Meri), with which Air Lituanica had a bitter legal dispute last year, says it is in touch with the Lithuanian government insofar as traffic rights are concerned.
