Transaviaexport Airlines (Minsk National) has acquired a maiden B747-200(F), EW-445TQ (msn 24399), formerly in service with Armenia's Veteran Avia (Yerevan) as EK-74799. The Belarus freight specialist also operates an extensive fleet of thirteen Il-76s, including eleven IL-76TDs and two IL-76MDs.
Minsk is currently privatizing the carrier and has been scouting for potential foreign partners. The process, however, has not been smooth with an airline director recently arrested and charged for allegedly eliciting a USD30,000 bribe from an unsuspecting foreign firm.
