Conviasa (V0, Caracas Simón Bolivar) has swapped out its wet-leased Malaysian A330 for a Spanish A340. According to Skyliner Aviation, the Venezuelan national carrier took delivery of a Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas (PU, Madrid Barajas) A340-300, EC-MFA (cn 212), on August 4 following the return of A330-300, 9M-XXJ (cn 1423), to owner AirAsia X (D7, Kuala Lumpur International) on August 2.
Conviasa uses the aircraft to service flights to Madrid Barajas and Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini.
Its own A340-200, YV1004 (cn 31), is currently grounded in Caracas for unknown reasons.
