Overland Airways (OF, Lagos) has dry-leased an E145 belonging to the state government of the Nigerian state of Bauchi. The aircraft, which was acquired by Bauchi State Government (Bauchi) nine years ago, had previously been leased to other operators including IRS Airlines (Abuja), Hamsal Air (Kano) and Associated Aviation (SCD, Lagos).
It is unknown on which routes the aircraft is expected to be operated with Overland, having just returned from a controversial overseas maintenance visit in Morocco causing rumors in the state that the aircraft might have been stolen although such media reports have now been debunked by state deputy governor Alhaji Nuhu Gidado according to a Vanguard news report.
Overland already operates four ATR42-300s and three ATR72-200s as well als several Beech 1900Ds.
