Thai Airways International (TG, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) is planning to sell off another batch of unwanted, ageing aircraft as part of its ongoing restructuring and cost reduction programme.
Having placed twenty-two aircraft up for sale earlier in the year including A330-300s, A340-500s, A340-600s, A300-600s, B777-200(ER)s and some B737-400s, the Orient Aviation blog indicates Thai is now willing to dispose of its two remaining B737-400s in addition to its twelve B747-400s.
Despite the original batch of aircraft being on sale for almost nine months, research shows few, if any, of the aircraft originally put up for sale have been acquired with the majority still parked at various airfields around Thailand as well as at Goodyear and Mojave in the United States.
