Aéroport Montpellier Méditerranée (AMM), the firm that manages Montpellier airport in France, says the planned launch of direct flights to Dakar Yoff-Léopold Sédar Senghor International, Senegal has been delayed from December 18 to Spring of next year. Flights are organized by Swiss ACMI specialist Jetlease using an A320-200 which belongs to a soon-to-be-established firm based out of Montpellier. No reason was given for the delay.

The flights are part of a cooperation agreement signed between AMM and Aéroports du Senegal (ADS) late last year which aims to encourage tourism to the West African country.

Should it launch, the route will be Montpellier's only longhaul service.
