El Al Israel Airlines (LY, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) has signed an agreement with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) for the lease of two B787-9s. Both aircraft are on long-term lease from ALC’s order book with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) and are scheduled to arrive in Israel during the third quarter and early fourth quarter of 2017. The aircraft will replace El Al's older B747-400s.

In October, the Israeli national carrier announced plans to revamp its widebody fleet using the full range of B787 Family aircraft including five B787-8s and four B787-9s with options for seven B787-10s (convertible to -8s and/or -9s).
