Sol del Paraguay (SGU, Asuncion) has outlined its tentative relaunch plans with scheduled passenger flights from Asuncion to Encarnación and Pedro Juan Caballero set to commence on January 22. Operations are on-board a single Cessna (single turboprop) 208EX Grand Caravan - ZP-CDK - which arrived in South America last year.
Other planned destinations include Ciudad del Este and Filadelfia, PY.
Founded in 2010, the airline had offered daily flights from Asuncion to Ciudad del Este and Buenos Aires Ministro Pistarini using a fleet of three Fokker 100s. However, owing to Paraguay's slowing economy at the time, Sol del Paraguay suspended all operations in August 2012.
