TAME Ecuador (Quito International) has suspended scheduled operations to Tena Jumandy airport in the heart of Ecaudor's Amazon rainforest citing poor passenger loads. Since its inauguration in April 2011, the airport has struggled to attract sufficient demand with officials citing the good quality of roads in the area for travellers' preferred use of cars and buses for transport.
As it stands, Tame's last flight to Quito International operated on January 11 leaving general aviation and flying schools as the airport's only users.
