Royal Star Aviation (RSM, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) will shortly take delivery of its maiden ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) turboprop - an ATR72-500 formerly in service with Brazil's Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) as PP-PTX. Now re-registered as RP-C8666 (cn 666) in the Philippines, Skyliner Aviation reports the turboprop was recently seen at Toulouse Francazal sporting Alphaland Balesin Island Club's livery.
Once in south-east Asia, the turboprop will likely be leased out to Alphaland Aviation (BIC, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) for use on flights from Manila Ninoy Aquino International to Balesin Island. Alphaland Aviation was to have taken delivery of ATR72-200 cn 444 last year but this was subsequently allocated to Summit Air Charters (SUT, Yellowknife) which is now converting it into a freighter.
An ACMI/charter firm, Royal Star Aviation also operates two Jetstream 41s, two Do328-300s, and various smaller fixed-wing aircraft.
