Sunrise Airways (S6, Port au Prince) has announced plans to expand its fleet with the addition of a first ATR42-320 turboprop to be delivered to the largest Haitian carrier later this month.
The carrier's president Philippe Bayard has said that using the aircraft Sunrise plans to serve longer routes to destinations in the Western Caribbean. Using a fleet of Jetstream 32s, Sunrise currently serves Camagüey, Santo Domingo La Isabela and Santiago de Cuba internationally as well as Cap Haitien locally from its Port au Prince base.
Using the ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) turboprop, Sunrise hopes to add Havana International, Kingston Norman Manley, Nassau International and Providenciales to its network in due course.
