IranAir (IR, Tehran Mehrabad) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) wherein the German carrier will provide technical expertise to the Iranians.
Signed in Tehran last week by the chairman of Iran Air, Farhad Parvaresh, and Lufthansa Group's Chief Officer of Hub Management, Harry Hohmeister, the agreement includes assistance in the fields of airline IT, aerial navigation, and company restructuring.
Lufthansa Technik has also expressed a keen interest in setting up an MRO facility in Iran to cater for the upcoming arrival of over 130 jet and turboprop aircraft from each of Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac).
