China Eastern Airlines (MU, Shanghai Hongqiao) is planning to open branch companies in Qingdao Jiaodong and Guangzhou over the course of the year.

China Aviation Daily reports the wholly-owned Qingdao subsidiary will have a total registered capital of CNY2.66 billion (USD410.3 million) and will make use of the carrier's Shandong branch's equipment. For its part, the Guangzhou branch is scheduled to open in May.

Overall, China Eastern operates five other subsidiaries including: Shanghai Airlines (FM, Shanghai Hongqiao), China United Airlines (KN, Beijing Daxing International), China Eastern Wuhan, China Eastern Jiangsu, and China Eastern Yunnan Airlines.
