Taquan Air (K3, Ketchikan International) has acquired fellow operator Promech Air's Alaskan assets for an undisclosed sum effective immediately. According to The Ketchikan Daily News, Taquan will assume Promech's existing contracts and its facilities, including its large Peninsula Point MRO hangar.
The move will allow Promech Air, also known as PM Air LLC, to focus on its operations in Key West, Florida.
Both Taquan Air and Promech Air operate passenger flights to remote parts of Alaska from their base at Ketchikan International, a city in the southeast of the state. Between them, they operate sixteen aircraft including DHC-2s and DHC-3s.
