Eastern Air Lines (2009) (Miami International) will commence regular charter flights between the United States and Guyana later this summer in conjunction with the One Guyana Air Travel firm.
Though a one-off flight from Georgetown Cheddi Jagan to Miami International is scheduled for May 20, regular flights will only commence on July 1 running through to September 11. During the period, there will be two weekly flights from Miami with two flights weekly from New York JFK in off peak, and three flights during peak demand.
Using a fleet of four B737-800 and one B737-700, Eastern Air Lines operates charter flights between several US cities and destinations throughout the Americas and the Caribbean including Havana International, San José Juan Santamaría, Caracas Simón Bolivar, Nassau International, and Bridgetown among others.
