Air Austral (UU, St. Denis de la Réunion) has taken delivery of its first of two B787-8s on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). Having now arrived at Paris CDG, F-OLRC (msn 34510) will be ferried to the French Indian Ocean protectorate of St. Denis de la Réunion on Wednesday, May 25.
The aircraft is scheduled to begin revenue operations on May 27 with flights to Antananarivo followed by Mauritius and Dzaoudzi. Thereafter, the Dreamliner will begin longhaul operations between Dzaoudzi and Paris CDG on June 10.
The second aircraft of the type, F-OLRB (msn 34491), is scheduled to deliver in October this year following which the type will begin regular flights to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.
Aside from three ATR72-500s, Air Austral is an all-Boeing airline operating one B737-300(QC) (leased from ASL Airlines France (5O, Paris CDG)), two B737-800s, and three B777-300(ER)s.
