KLM Cityhopper (WA, Amsterdam Schiphol) has accelerated the phase out of its Fokker 70 fleet with the type now slated to be withdrawn from service during the last quarter of 2017 as opposed to 2018 as previously anticipated.
In a statement, the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) regional subsidiary said the Fokker Aircraft's last day in service had now been rescheduled for October 29, 2017. Following that, its fleet will consist entirely of Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos U.E. Stumpf International) Regional Jets - currently one E175 and thirty E190s. A further sixteen EMB-175s are expected to arrive through to June 2018.
KLM operated its last commercial flight with a Fokker 50 in 2010, while the last Fokker 100s were phased out in 2012.
