Capital Airlines (China) (JD, Beijing Daxing International) has secured Chinese regulatory approval to begin scheduled passenger flights to North America.
In its announcement earlier this week, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) awarded the Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) subsidiary rights to start Beijing Capital-México City International services. Under its original April application, Capital said it intended to serve the Mexican metropolis 3x weekly using A340 equipment. Service is scheduled to begin during the first half of next year.
Other longhaul sectors Capital Airlines can now serve include: Beijing-Zagreb Franjo Tuđman; and Shenyang Taoxian International-Qingdao Jiaodong-Melbourne Tullamarine, Australia.
Capital Airlines will make its longhaul debut later next month with a weekly Hangzhou-Madrid Barajas return service operated using its A330-200 fleet.
