Air Serbia (JU, Belgrade Nikola Tesla) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dane Kondić says the carrier is looking at developing flights to China as part of its Asian expansion strategy.

According to EX-YU Aviation News, the CEO's comments come months after Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vučić, said Beijing Capital would be the carrier's most likely second longhaul destination following the launch of New York JFK flights in June this year.

Belgrade has noted it is also in talks with an unspecified Chinese carrier to start China-Serbia flights as early as next year.

JAT Yugoslav Airlines (Belgrade Nikola Tesla) was the last carrier to operate Belgrade-Beijing flights with its final service in 2000.
