Skyjet Airlines (MSJ, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) is planning to acquire a maiden BAe 146-200 airline Chief Operating Officer (COO) Joaquin Po has told the BusinessMirror newspaper.

In an interview, Po said the aircraft, bought from an unspecified Peruvian operator, will arrive at the end of October. Along with its pair of BAe 146-100s, Po said the BAe146-200 will allow Skyjet to cater to increase tourist traffic. As such, Skyjet will increase the number of flights it operates to Basco to daily, Busuanga to 2x daily, and Caticlan to 3x daily.

Po went on to note that although Skyjet wants to expand its network coverage, it cannot do so because of the congestion at Manila Ninoy Aquino International as well as operational restrictions at the airports it serves.

When asked about whether the airline would consider shifting its operations to Angeles City Clark International as per government's new domestic flight policy, Po said Skyjet would be willing to move, provided rival carriers do so as well.
