Air Calédonie (TY, Nouméa Magenta) has taken delivery of its first ATR72-600 following a handing over ceremony at at the ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) factory at Toulouse Blagnac last week.

F-OZIP (cn 1355), which is currently en-route to the French South Pacific, is one of two ATR72-600s that Air Calédonie will take delivery of over the course of the next three months, the other being F-OZLI. As it stands, F-OZIP is expected to make its commercial debut on December 7 with flights between Noumea Magenta and Koné Airport.

In total, Air Calédonie has four ATR72-600s on order which it will use to replace its outgoing fleet of ATR42-500s and ATR72-500s.

Specialising in domestic New Caledonian flights, Air Calédonie currently connects Nouméa Magenta with Île des Pins, Koné, Lifou, Maré, and Ouvéa. Flights to Tiga, Koumac, and Touho are operated by partner Air Loyauté (RLY, Nouméa Magenta).
