Astra Airlines (Thessaloniki) has announced its maiden scheduled international flight, serving Thessaloniki to Bucharest Henri Coanda. The new route will start in time for the Christmas and New Year period and will then be served 2x weekly from January 9, 2017.
Currently, TAROM (RO, Bucharest Henri Coanda) flies this route, with a weekly capacity of 204 seats. The only other route between Greece and Romania is Athens to Bucharest Henri Coanda run by Aegean Airlines, Ryanair and Tarom, with a combined weekly capacity of 3,295 seats.
Astra has so far focused on the Greek domestic market, flying between twelve destinations on sixteen routes using a fleet of two ATR42-300s, one ATR72-200 and a BAe 146-300.
