Airlink (South Africa) (4Z, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) will shortly add a maiden E190 to its fleet Skyliner Aviation has reported. Formerly N177HQ (msn 19000481) with Republic Airlines (Indianapolis International), the twinjet was recently seen at Fort Worth Meacham sporting the carrier's livery ahead of its delivery to South Africa.
Last year, Airlink CEO Rodger Foster said the Embraer Regional Jet was one of four types under consideration for the replacement of its ageing fleet of ARJ-85s.
As it stands, the carrier's fleet currently consists of twelve ARJ-85s, eight Jetstream 41s, seventeen E135s, two E140s, and two E145s. In partnership with South African Airways (SA, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo), it currently serves various cities throughout South Africa as well as Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, Madagascar, Zambia, Lesotho, Swaziland, and Madagascar.
