Nigeria's Federal High Court has issued a warrant against Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport), its Board Chairman, and its Commercial Manager (Nigeria) for failing to appear for a criminal suit in regard to breaches of the Consumer Protection Act (CPC), reports This Day Live.
The Nigerian government's case claims that Turkish Airlines has collectively refused to cooperate with lawful requests from the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) for full reports on the alleged poor treatment of passengers and the delayed delivery of their luggage on flights between Abuja and Istanbul Atatürk on December 25 and 31, 2015 and on January 9, 2016.
Chairman Ilker Ayci and local Commercial Manager Rasak Shobowale have failed to appear at any of the hearings held so far, leading Justice B.O. Quadri to issue the bench warrants for their arrest.
Ayci and Shobowale have been ordered to appear before the court on April 17.
