Gulfstar Airways (Long Beach) is a California-based start-up looking to compete with Surf Air (URF, Santa Monica) in the subscription-based market niche.
Using E135 and E145 equipment, the carrier plans to connect Long Beach, Burbank, Santa Barbara, CA, San José, US, Oakland International, San Diego International, and Las Vegas Harry Reid initially before expanding regionally. The flights are to be conducted by Gulfstar Air Charters (West Palm Beach International), an FAA Part 135 certified operator. Prices start at USD2,395 for a monthly commitment.
The start-up attempted to offer a similar product in Florida in 2015 but using VIP-configured Saab 340As to serve Fort Lauderdale International, Orlando International, Jacksonville International, FL, Tallahassee, and Tampa International.
