Philippine Airlines (PR, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) has announced it will resume flights to Abu Dhabi International with the onset of the Winter 2017/18 season.
The carrier suspended flights to the capital of the United Arab Emirates on July 8 around the same time Cebu Pacific Air (5J, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) announced its own cessation of flights to Kuwait, Doha Hamad International, and Riyadh. Collectively, the two Filipino operators blamed their respective moves on capacity dumping by the Middle Eastern carriers.
However, PAL announced on July 13 that it will resume its 3x weekly Manila Ninoy Aquino International-Abu Dhabi service from October 31 "after experiencing increased demand for flights on the route."
The airline's other Middle Eastern destinations include Dammam (5x weekly), Dubai International (daily), Jeddah International (3x weekly), Kuwait (4x weekly); and Riyadh (daily).
