TAROM (RO, Bucharest Henri Coanda) has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) for the lease (financial, operating, etc.) of three (3) widebody aircraft.
A tender document seen by ch-aviation states the aircraft must be "equipped with two engines" and must be current generation sisterships.
They should seat between 225 and 270 passengers in a two- or three-class configuration with a minimum range of 5,200 nautical miles. They should be no older than five years of age and should feature in-flight entertainment, wi-fi, leather seats, and a crew rest area.
The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2017, with the winning aircraft to be inducted once all negotiations have been concluded.
Tarom's leadership has hinted at using the wide-body jets to resume longhaul services to China and the United States.
