TACV - Cabo Verde Airlines (Praia) has announced the suspension of flight operations until Monday, September 11, citing a lack of serviceable aircraft.
The Cape Verde carrier said in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 6, that with its only aircraft, B757-200 D4-CBP (msn 30045), currently out of service, it had failed to source replacement capacity. As a result, it would have to suspend flights for a period of six days. According to Flightradar24 ADS-B data, D4-CBP is currently at Providence where it has been since September 1.
"All passengers will be rerouted on flights from third-party companies, depending on the availability of seats," it said.
In a subsequent statement, the carrier said it had secured capacity from Portuguese ACMI/charter specialist euroAtlantic Airways (YU, Lisbon) albeit only to run its Lisbon-Praia return flight on Tuesdays and Sundays and its Lisbon-São Vicente return service on Thursdays.
TACV uses its sole B757 to service flights from Praia, Sal Amilcar Cabral International and São Vicente to Providence, Lisbon, Recife, Fortaleza International, Rotterdam, and Paris CDG.
