Thai Airways International (TG, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) has taken delivery of its first B787-9 with HS-TWA (msn 38777) having been positioned from Everett to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi last week. It has since been deployed into service on crew training flights between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and each of Phuket and Chiang Mai ahead of its international debut early next month.
According to a Thai news release, HS-TWA will serve Singapore Changi from October 1 to November 15, 2017. Following the second aircraft's arrival, Thai will deploy the type on round trip flights from Bangkok to Auckland International, New Zealand and Taipei Taoyuan, Taiwan beginning from November 16, 2017.
Aside from the -9, Thai also operates six B787-8s.
