The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has officially confirmed it has now awarded local business charter specialist MJets (Thailand) (MIN, Bangkok Don Mueang) and cargo carrier K-Mile Asia (8K, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) renewed Air Operator's Certificates (AOC).
According to a statement, the new AOCs were officially presented during a ceremony held last week in Bangkok.

Following the presentation ceremony, the CAAT reaffirmed its commitment to recertifying Orient Thai Airlines, Thai VietJetAir, Jet Asia Airways, Bangkok Jets, Siam Land Flying, Asia Atlantic Airlines, VIP Jets (Thailand), H.S. Aviation, Advance Aviation Jet, and R Airlines by year-end.
The ten carriers were required to suspend international services from September 1, 2017, onwards as part of an ICAO-stipulated condition for its latest ICVM audit to proceed.
Following the conclusion of the ICVM late last month, there has been optimism in Thailand over the lifting of a Serious Safety Concern (SSC) imposed on the country following a failed audit in 2015. A review of the ICAO website shows a red-flag appended to Thailand's listing has now been removed suggesting the sanction has been lifted. Commenting on the matter to The Bangkok Post, the CAAT said it expects ICAO to make a formal statement concerning the outcome of the ICVM later this month.
