Air Odisha (Bhubaneshwar) and Deccan Charters (Bengaluru International) have been awarded a total of ten slots at the congested Delhi International airport for use in carrying out Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS/UDAN) flights.
According to officials who spoke to India's PTI news agency, the two operators had originally pitched for sixteen slots in total - Deccan Charters ten and Air Odisha six. This was, however, revised downwards to six and four slots, respectively the officials said. In addition, each airline would get one night parking slot.
Deccan Charters and Air Odisha are awaiting their scheduled commuter air transport services licences from the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) before they can start their respective RCS services.
