Afrijet Business Service (J7, Libreville Leon M'Ba) Managing Director Marc Gaffajoli has announced the carrier is looking to secure investment ahead of its planned expansion into the Central and West African scheduled passenger markets.
Speaking to African Aerospace, Gaffajoli said the Gabonese carrier would use the added capital to increase its regional network to include flights from Abidjan to Lagos and N'Djamena to Luanda 4 De Fevereiro.
At present, Afrijet's fleet entails two ATR42-500s and two ATR72-500s used for scheduled domestic flights from Libreville Leon M'Ba to Franceville/Mvengue and Port Gentil and for regional services to São Tome as well as Pointe Noire and Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo. It also operates two Falcon 900Ds on charter flights and VIP services.
Afrijet is also the parent of Chadian operator flyART Aviation (N'Djamena) which is also in the process of establishing its on scheduled services. According to its booking portal, which is inoperative at present, flyART has named Abuja, Jeddah International, and Niamey as tentative launch destinations. Gaffajoli did not respond to a ch-aviation request for comment on the carrier's launch plans.
