TAG Airlines (5U, Guatemala City) has announced it will shortly add a maiden E145 to its fleet. According to ch-aviation research, the ex-ExpressJet Airlines (Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) aircraft, N15985 (msn 145258), was transferred from the US aircraft register to that of Guatemala as TG-TAJ earlier this month ahead of its delivery to Central America.
In a statement, TAG said it would use the twinjet to open up flights to destinations such as Managua (Nicaragua), Cancún (Mexico), and Cuba.
TAG currently operates four Saab 340As and five E110s on scheduled passenger flights from Guatemala City to each of Flores Mundo Maya International and Puerto Barrios domestically and to Belize City International, Roatán, and San Pedro Sula regionally. It also operates smaller turboprop aircraft and helicopters.
