Winair (WM, St. Maarten) has backed out of the agreement with the government agency of the Caribbean Netherlands (Rijksdienst Caribisch Nederland - RCN) to launch a service connecting Bonaire, Saint Eustatius, and Saba, Curacao Chronicle reported.

Under the terms of the agreement with the RCN, the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and the Ministry Infrastructure and Water Management, the airline was supposed to launch the service dubbed as CN Express in early January, using leased aircraft.

The authorities are now looking for other partners to operate the service, the newspaper noted.

According to the ch-aviation capacity module, Winair currently operates a 3x weekly service connecting Saint Eustatius and St. Maarten via Saba. It is the only scheduled service out of Saint Eustatius and Saba.

The airline does not operate to Bonaire, which for its part is served mainly by Divi Divi Air, InselAir, and Aruba Airlines which in total operate 74x weekly to Curaçao. Bonaire does not have scheduled flights to either of the other two islands in the Carribean Netherlands.
