Domestic Airways (Georgetown Ogle) has secured its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GyCAA) following a two year scrutinization process.
With the AOC's issuance, Domestic Airways is now capable of offering commercial charter and scheduled services having previously operated on a non-commercial basis since its founding in 2015.
“We have been using our aeroplanes for private purposes, not for public or monetary gain or for charters," Captain Orlando Charles said in a statement. "With the conclusion of the application process and the certification, we are now eligible for charters from individuals or companies. I am very thankful to the Civil Aviation Authority for this opportunity."
Domestic Airways' fleet includes Britten-Norman BN-2s and Cessna Aircraft Company light aircraft.
