Air Pohang (Pohang) has commenced revenue operations five days after it secured its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) on February 2.
The start-up said in a statement its inaugural service took place on Wednesday, February 7, with 2x daily return flights from its Pohang base to each of Jeju and Seoul Gimpo. Operations are on-board CRJ200 equipment of which two 200LRs have been leased from Avmax Aircraft Leasing while one 200ER is leased from Regional One.
Future destinations will include Seoul Incheon and Yeosu/Suncheon, while in 2022 flights to Ulleungdo Island are planned, possibly using ATR42 equipment.
