Atlantic Airways (RC, Faroe Islands Vágar) has signed a long-term lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation involving one A320neo. According to a statement, the aircraft will deliver direct from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) in March 2019 replacing a leased A319-100.
The aircraft will be deployed on the carrier's main Vagar-Copenhagen Kastrup route where it will compete with SAS Scandinavian Airlines and its A320neo.
Atlantic Airways operates two A319s and one A320-200 on scheduled passenger flights between the Faroes and a range of cities including Copenhagen Kastrup, Billund, Aalborg, Bergen, Reykjavik Keflavik, Edinburgh, Barcelona El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Lisbon, Malta International, and Gran Canaria. In addition, it also offers charter operations outside the Faroes.
