Island Air Express (I4, Craig) has been granted authority by Transport Canada to operate charter flights to any destination in Canada as it intends to expand cross-border services from Alaska.
The Alaskan regional specialist, operator of a fleet of two Cessna (single turboprop) 208s, one 208B, and one U206(F), debuted international operations in mid-February with a charter flight to Prince Rupert, BC. Island Air Express intends to operate cross-border charters mostly out of Klawock and Ketchikan International. These flights will supplement the carrier's scheduled operations connecting Klawock with each of Ketchikan and Craig.
According to the ch-aviation capacity module, there are currently no scheduled operations between Alaska and British Columbia in Canada.
