Western Global Airlines (KD, Fort Myers Southwest Florida) has announced that it has secured a three-year contract wherein it will provide freight forwarder Flexport with scheduled B747-400(F) service between Hong Kong International and Los Angeles International beginning April 5.
The initial roundtrip service will operate 2x weekly growing to 3x weekly from September.
“Our partnership with Flexport is a significant milestone because it will enable our two companies to join forces to revolutionize the traditional air cargo platform for the 21st century,” Western Global’s CEO and Founder, Jim Neff, said in a statement.
Based in Florida, Western Global is an FAA Part 121 Certified cargo carrier operating a total of two B747-400(F)s and sixteen MD-11(F)s on chartered as well as scheduled cargo flights. Clients include express couriers, logistics providers, humanitarian and relief organizations, and the US Department of Defense.
