The Venezuelan Government has announced it has lifted a month-long embargo on commercial passenger and cargo flights to the islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao effective April 9.

The moratorium on air travel between Venezuela and the Dutch Antilles was instituted by the Maduro regime on March 8 in response to what Caracas termed the islands' persistent aiding and abetting of the Venezuelan black market through the trafficking of goods.

The decision to lift the ban follows Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok's visit to Caracas this weekend where he held talks with Venezuelan Vice President Tareck El Aissami to resolve the dispute.

Operators that are expected to resume flights between the ABC Islands and Venezuela in the coming days include Aruba Airlines, Albatros Airlines, Amerijet International (cargo), Avior Airlines, Rutaca Airlines, and Vensecar Internacional (cargo).
