LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) will lease four brand new E190s from Nordic Aviation Capital by the end of 2018, adding to its existing fleet of the other three types of Embraer regional jets.
The Polish flag carrier has announced it will use the aircraft among others to serve its new route from Warsaw Chopin to London City, due to be operated 12x weekly from January 7, 2019. The carrier will continue to serve London Heathrow 21x weekly. It will become the only airline to connect London City with Poland.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, LOT currently operates six E170LRs (of which it was the global launch operator in 2004), twelve E175s (including two operated on behalf of the Polish army VIP transport unit Polska Wojska Lotnicze i Obrony Powietrznej), six E195LRs, and two EMB-195IGWs. It is currently in the process of introducing a further four ex-Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras EMB-195IGWs. Unlike its original EMB-195s seating 112 passengers, the new aircraft joining it from the Brazilian carrier are equipped with 118 seats.
Besides the Embraer jets, LOT also operates two B737-8s, three B737-400s, four B737-800s, eight B787-8s, two B787-9s, and twelve Dash 8-400s. It also wet-leases one B737-500 and a further two B737-800s from Romania's Blue Air (Romania) and six CRJ900ERs from equity partner Regional Jet.
