Global Aviation Operations (GE, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) is set to resume widebody operations following the recent acquisition of its first A340-500.
A company spokeswoman has confirmed to ch-aviation that msn 694 arrived at Johannesburg O.R. Tambo on Tuesday, June 12. It is expected to be followed by another former Emirates aircraft, msn 611, at some point over the coming months.
Based out of South Africa, Global Aviation Operations specializes in ACMI/charter services and is also authorized to operate in the European Union (EU) being in possession of a Third Country Operator (TCO) certificate.
Its fleet consists of seven A320-200s of which two are in service for Mango Airlines while four others are in service for each of Sunrise Airways, Jubba Airways, Corendon Airlines, and Corendon Airlines Europe.
