BRA - Braathens Regional Airlines (Stockholm Bromma) has announced it will launch flights from Kristianstad to Stockholm Bromma on August 27, 2018, replacing Sparrow Aviation (Stockholm Arlanda) which is set to terminate its service to Stockholm Arlanda on June 25. The route will be Kristianstad's only scheduled service.
Although it has confirmed its launch, BRA has not yet disclosed the frequency, aircraft type, or the schedule of its planned flights to Kristianstad. It will offer connecting flights via Stockholm Bromma to other destinations in Sweden, as well as Helsinki Vantaa. The carrier currently offers a total of 392 weekly departures out of the Stockholm's inner-city airport, the ch-aviation capacity module shows.
Sparrow Aviation connects Kristianstad, a city in southern Sweden, with Arlanda 28x weekly using a Fokker 50 aircraft wet-leased from Amapola Flyg.
"The support and interest we have seen from the local business community, politicians and Kristianstad Österlen Airport has convinced us that we should increase the number of travellers between Kristianstad and the rest of the country via Bromma," BRA CEO Christian Clemens said in a statement.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Braathens Regional Airlines currently operates four ATR72-500s, ten ATR72-600s, nine ARJ-100s, and two ARJ-85s. All ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops are wet-leased from its BRA - Braathens Regional Airways unit while the BAe Systems quadjets are wet-leased from BRA - Braathens Regional Aviation. The carrier also wet-leases two Fokker 50s from Amapola Flyg.
