The autonomous government of the Canary Islands has awarded easyJet (London Luton) a EUR161,060 euro (USD190,000) annual subsidy for the Santa Cruz de La Palma-Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH route.
The British LCC serves La Palma out of each of London Gatwick and Berlin Schönefeld on a seasonal basis during the winter months; both routes are currently suspended for summer. Its network to the Canary Islands also includes services to each of Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Tenerife Sur predominantly out of the United Kingdom. It also flies 2x weekly out of Basel to Las Palmas and 1x weekly to Tenerife Sur.
La Palma, one of the western-most islands in the Canary Islands archipelago, sees much smaller tourism inflows than the larger Tenerife, Gran Canaria, and Fuerteventura islands. According to the ch-aviation capacity module, the airport is served predominantly locally with a total of 159 weekly departures to Tenerife Norte operated by Binter Canarias, Air Europa, and CanaryFly. Binter also connects La Palma with Las Palmas, while Iberia operates 9x weekly to Madrid Barajas.
La Palma's European international network is limited to leisure services operated by the likes of Condor, Transavia Airlines, Germania, and TUI Group carriers, mostly to Germany. The airport sees larger traffic during the winter months when it is also served by Primera Air Nordic, Eurowings, and others.
