SkyLease Cargo (GG, Miami International) has signed a long-term charter contract with a Chinese lobster processing firm for regular cargo flights between Changsha Huanghua and Chicago O'Hare via Anchorage Ted Stevens, the owner of the concerned aircraft said in a statement.
Flights will be operated with a B747-400(F) N908AR (msn 28026), owned by LCI - Lease Corporation International, an aircraft management arm of the investment company The Libra Group.
The service will be Changsha's maiden route operated with a B747.
According to the ch-aviation capacity module, the Chinese airport currently sees scheduled cargo flights operated by China Postal Airlines, Loong Air, and SF Airlines. While most of the cargo services are domestic, SF Airlines also operates scheduled cargo flights to each of Ho Chi Minh City and Manila Ninoy Aquino International.
SkyLease Cargo currently operates only two other active aircraft, both MD-11(F)s. One more MD-11(F) and two B747-400(F)s owned by SkyLease Cargo have been stored for at least a few last months.
