Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has taken delivery of its first of sixty-five B737-8s on order from Boeing (BOE, Washington National).
Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows TC-LCA (msn 60032) was ferried from Seattle Boeing Field to Istanbul Atatürk via Reykjavik Keflavik over the course of August 17/18.
The twinjet will be deployed into service on August 21 plying domestic Turkish and international routes including the Middle East, Iran, the Balkans, and the CIS.
As of June 30, 2018, Turkish Airlines expects to add seven B737 MAX 8s to its fleet this year followed by 12 in 2019, 19 in 2020, 15 in 2021, and 12 in 2022. It also has ten B737-9s on order five of which are due in 2019 with the remainder to arrive in 2020.
