KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) has rescheduled some of its long-haul services to the Caribbean following the withdrawal of subsidiary Martinair (MP/Amsterdam) from passenger services by the end of October 2011 and will lease three A330-300s from early 2012: Amsterdam-Aalborg: 2x daily Fokker 70 service has started on March 27 (operated by KLM cityhopper (WA/Amsterdam)) Amsterdam-Aruba-Bonaire-Amsterdam: 5x weekly MD-11 service starting on October 30 (replacing Aruba-Curacao routing) Amsterdam-Basle/Mulhouse: 2x daily Fokker 70 service starting on October 30 (operated by KLM cityhopper and replacing Air France (AF/Paris CDG)) Amsterdam-Buenos Aires Ezeiza: 3x weekly B777-200ER service starting on October 31 Amsterdam-Curacao: 4x weekly B747-400 service continues Amsterdam-Curacao-Bonaire-Amsterdam: 2x weekly MD-11 service starting on October 31 Amsterdam-Havana: weekly MD-11 service starting on November 5 (replacing Martinair (MP/Amsterdam)) Amsterdam-Havana-Punta Cana-Havana: 2x weekly MD-11 service starting on October 31 (replacing Martinair) Amsterdam-Miami: 4x weekly MD-11 service has started on March 27 Amsterdam-Quito-Guayaquil-Amsterdam: 3x weekly B777-300ER service starting on October 30 (replacing routing via Bonaire) Amsterdam-Rio de Janeiro Intl: 3x weekly B777-200ER service starting on November 1 Amsterdam-St. Maarten-Curacao-Amsterdam: 3x weekly B747-400 service starting on October 30 (replacing some flights routing St. Maarten-Bonaire) Amsterdam-Xiamen: 3x weekly B777-200ER service has started on March 27 KLM will stop using a B737-700(BBJ) of PrivatAir (PTI/Geneva) on the Amsterdam-Houston Intcl route as of October 30 and replace it by an A330-200. It is reportedly still considering potential alternative routes for the aircraft. KLM has announced plans that it will not replace its MD-11 fleet until at least 2016 by when it will have started taking delivery of either new A350s or B787-9s. Despite the recent announcement of Malaysia Airlines (MH/Kuala Lumpur Intl) to join oneworld alliance, KLM wants to intensify its cooperation with the carrier. KLM has however given up its codeshare agreement with Meridiana fly (IG/Olbia) for the Amsterdam-Florence route as Skyteam partner Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino) has launched the route on March 27 replacing Meridiana fly.
