Air Serbia (JU, Belgrade Nikola Tesla) will launch flights from Niš on July 15, 2019, and will subsequently launch 12 routes in total from the airport by early August, Airlineroute has reported.
The Serbian carrier has recently been awarded a public service obligation (PSO) contract covering services from the southern Serbian city.
Air Serbia will operate from Nis to:
- Bologna (2x weekly from July 16);
- Budapest (2x weekly from August 1);
- Frankfurt Hahn (2x weekly from July 17);
- Friedrichshafen (2x weekly from July 17);
- Gothenburg Landvetter (2x weekly from July 17);
- Hannover (2x weekly from July 16);
- Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (2x weekly from August 3);
- Ljubljana (2x weekly from August 1);
- Nuremberg (2x weekly from July 15);
- Rome Fiumicino (2x weekly from August 2);
- Salzburg (2x weekly from August 2), and
- Tivat (2x weekly from July 16).
All flights from Nis will be on board A319-100 aircraft.
The carrier will receive around RSD5 million dinars (USD47,500) per year per route through 2021.
Currently, Air Serbia does not serve Nis. The airport sees 22 weekly scheduled flights operated by Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) (11 departures per week), Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) (eight), and Swiss (LX, Zurich) (three).
